Terms and Conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and Lycea for using Lyceum. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
1. Who we are
Lycea ("we", "us") provides Lyceum, an AI voice companion application. Contact: admin@lycea.net.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Lyceum, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for keeping access to it secure and for activity that happens under your account.
3. What the service does
Lyceum lets you talk to AI companions by text and by voice, in Arabic dialects and in English. Depending on your plan it can also read documents, watch video, listen to audio, search the web, and generate images and video.
4. AI output is not advice, and it can be wrong
Replies are generated by AI models. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or misleading, and they may sound confident while being wrong.
Lyceum is a general-purpose companion. It is not a substitute for a doctor, lawyer, accountant, therapist or any other professional, and it must not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, safety or emergency decisions. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
You are responsible for checking anything important before acting on it.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you send: your messages, voice recordings and files. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and transmit that content solely to operate the service for you, including sending it to the AI and speech providers described in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the right to send whatever you upload, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights.
6. Generated content
Subject to these terms and to the policies of the underlying providers, you may use the text, images and video that Lyceum generates for you. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users, so you should not assume it is unique or exclusively yours.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Lyceum to:
- break the law, or encourage anyone else to
- create or share content that is sexual involving minors, hateful, harassing, or that incites violence
- impersonate a real person, or generate someone's likeness or voice without their permission
- produce disinformation, spam, malware or fraud
- attempt to extract, reverse engineer or resell the underlying models
- scrape, overload, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass its rate limits or security
- violate the terms of the third-party providers the service is built on
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules.
8. Beta, availability and changes
Lyceum is provided during beta free of charge and without any commitment to uptime, continuity, or preservation of your data. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
9. Paid features
Some capabilities, including generating images and video, may be limited to a premium tier. Where charges apply in future, the price, billing cycle and cancellation terms will be shown to you before you are charged, and these terms will be updated accordingly.
10. Third-party services
Lyceum is built on Google services, including Gemini, Google speech, Imagen, Veo, Firebase and Google Cloud. Your use of Lyceum is also subject to their applicable terms and policies. We are not responsible for those services' availability or output.
11. Intellectual property
Lycea owns the Lyceum application, its design, its brand and all associated intellectual property, except for your content and content you generate. These terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lycea will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for loss of profits, data, goodwill or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Lycea against claims, damages and costs arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.
15. Termination
You may stop using Lyceum at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing admin@lycea.net. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive it.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified in the app or by email. Continuing to use Lyceum after a change means you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman, Jordan will have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections you are entitled to where you live.
